| 1 | 這些事以後，天主試探亞巴郎說：「亞巴郎！」他答說：「我在這裡。」 | 1 | After these things, God tempted Abraham, and said to him: Abraham, Abraham. And he answered: Here I am. |
| 2 | 天主說：「帶你心愛的獨生子依撒格往摩黎雅地方去，在我所要指給你的一座山上，將他獻為全燔祭。」 | 2 | He said to him: Take thy only begotten son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and go into the land of vision: and there thou shalt offer him for a holocaust upon one of the mountains which I will show thee. |
| 3 | 亞巴郎次日清早起來，備好驢，帶了兩個僕人和自己的兒子依撒格，劈好為全燔祭用的木柴，就起身往天主指給他的地方去了。 | 3 | So Abraham rising up in the night, saddled his ass: and took with him two young men, and Isaac his son: and when he had cut wood for the holocaust he went his way to the place which God had commanded him. |
| 4 | 第三天，亞巴郎舉目遠遠看見了那個地方， | 4 | And on the third day, lifting up his eyes, he saw the place afar off. |
| 5 | 就對僕人說：「你們同驢在這裡等候，我和孩子要到那邊去朝拜，以後就回到你們這裡來。」 | 5 | And he said to his young men: Stay you here with the ass: I and the boy will go with speed as far as yonder, and after we have worshipped, will return to you. |
| 6 | 亞巴郎將為全燔祭用的木柴，放在兒子依撒格的肩上，自己手中拿著刀和火，兩人一同前行。 | 6 | And he took the wood for the holocaust, and laid it upon Isaac his son: and he himself carried in his hands fire and a sword. And as they two went on together, |
| 7 | 路上依撒格對父親亞巴郎說：「阿爸！」他答說：「我兒，我在這裡。」依撒格說：「看，這裡有火有柴，但是那裡有作全燔祭的羔羊？」 | 7 | Isaac said to his father: My father. And he answered: What wilt thou, son? Behold, saith he, fire and wood: where is the victim for the holocaust? |
| 8 | 亞巴郎答說：「我兒！天主自會照料作全燔祭的羔羊。」於是二人再繼續一同前行。 | 8 | And Abraham said: God will provide himself a victim for an holocaust, my son. So they went on together. |
| 9 | 當他們到了天主指給他的地方，亞巴郎便在那裡築了一座祭壇，擺好木柴，將兒子依撒格捆好，放在祭壇上的木柴上。 | 9 | And they came to the place which God had shown him, where he built an altar, and laid the wood in order upon it: and when he had bound Isaac his son, he laid him on the altar upon the pile of wood. |
| 10 | 亞巴郎正伸手舉刀要宰獻自己的兒子時， | 10 | And he put forth his hand and took the sword, to sacrifice his son. |
| 11 | 上主的使者從天上對他喊說：「亞巴郎！亞巴郎！」他答說：「我在這裡。」 | 11 | And behold an angel of the Lord from heaven called to him, saying: Abraham, Abraham. And he answered: Here I am. |
| 12 | 使者說：「不可在這孩子身上下手，不要傷害他！我現在知道你實在敬畏天主，因為你為了我竟連你的獨生子也不顧惜。」 | 12 | And he said to him: Lay not thy hand upon the boy, neither do thou any thing to him: now I know that thou fearest God, and hast not spared thy only begotten son for my sake. |
| 13 | 亞巴郎舉目一望，見有一隻公綿羊，兩角纏在灌木中，遂前去取了那隻公綿羊，代替自己的兒子，獻為全燔祭。 | 13 | Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw behind his back a ram amongst the briers sticking fast by the horns, which he took and offered for a holocaust instead of his son. |
| 14 | 亞巴郎給那地方起名叫「上主自會照料」。直到今日人還說：「在山上，上主自會照料。」 | 14 | And he called the name of that place, The Lord seeth. Whereupon even to this day it is said: In the mountain the Lord will see. |
| 15 | 上主的使者由天上又呼喚亞巴郎說： | 15 | And the angel of the Lord called to Abraham a second time from heaven, saying: |
| 16 | 「我指自己起誓，──上主的斷語，──因為你作了這事，沒有顧惜你的獨生子， | 16 | By my own self have I sworn, saith the Lord: because thou hast done this thing, and hast not spared thy only begotten son for my sake: |
| 17 | 我必多多祝福你，使你的後裔繁多，如天上的星辰，如海邊的沙粒。你的後裔必佔領他們仇敵的城門； | 17 | I will bless thee, and I will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven, and as the sand that is by the seashore: thy seed shall possess the gates of their enemies. |
| 18 | 地上萬民要因你的後裔蒙受祝福，因為你聽從了我的話。」 | 18 | And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed, because thou hast obeyed my voice. |
| 19 | 亞巴郎回到自己僕人那裡，一同起身回了貝爾舍巴，遂住在貝爾舍巴。 | 19 | Abraham returned to his young men, and they went to Bersabee together, and he dwelt there. |
| 20 | 這些事以後，有人告訴亞巴郎說：「米耳加也給你的兄弟納曷爾生了兒子： | 20 | After these things, it was told Abraham that Melcha also had borne children to Nachor his brother. |
| 21 | 長子伍茲，他的弟弟步次、阿蘭的父親刻慕耳、 | 21 | Hus the firstborn, and Buz his brother, and Camuel the father of the Syrians, |
| 22 | 革色得、哈左、丕耳達士、依德拉夫和貝突耳：── | 22 | And Cased, and Azau, and Pheldas, and Jedlaph, |
| 23 | 貝突耳生了黎貝加，──這八人都是米耳加給亞巴郎的兄弟納曷爾生的兒子。 | 23 | And Bathuel, of whom was born Rebecca: These eight did Melcha bear to Nachor Abraham's brother. |
| 24 | 此外他的妾，名叫勒烏瑪的，給他生了特巴黑、加罕、塔哈士和瑪阿加。 | 24 | And his concubine, named Roma, bore Tabee, and Gaham, and Tahas, and Maacha. |
