| 1 | 我兒，不要拒絕救濟窮人生活的急需，也不要使急難人的眼目長久望著你。 | 1 | Son, defraud not the poor of alms, and turn not away thy eyes from the poor. |
| 2 | 不要加增饑餓人的悲苦；也不要激怒困苦中的人。 | 2 | Despise not the hungry soul: and provoke not the Boor in his want. |
| 3 | 不要擾亂憂苦人的心靈，也不要遲延接濟有急難的人。 | 3 | Afflict not the heart of the needy, and defer not to give to him that is in distress. |
| 4 | 不要拒絕痛苦而哀求的人，也不要轉臉不顧窮困的人。 | 4 | Reject not the petition of the afflicted: and turn not away thy face from the needy. |
| 5 | 不要轉眼不顧乞丐，而叫他生氣，也不要讓他，那有求於你的人，背後咒罵你。 | 5 | Turn not away thy eyes from the poor for fear of anger: and leave not to them that ask of thee to curse thee behind thy back. |
| 6 | 因為，人心在愁苦中，若咒罵了你，他的創造者必要垂聽他的哀求。 | 6 | For the prayer of him that curseth thee in the bitterness of his soul, shall be heard, for he that made him will hear him. |
| 7 | 在窮人的集會前，你應表示和氣；在長老前，你應謙抑你的心靈；在官長前，你應低首下心。 | 7 | Make thyself affable to the congregation of the poor, and humble thy soul to the ancient, and bow thy head to a great man. |
| 8 | 你要高興傾耳垂聽窮人，並歸還你的債務，又要和顏悅色地向他答禮。 | 8 | Bow down thy ear cheerfully to the poor, and pay what thou owest, and answer him peaceable words with mildness. |
| 9 | 應從壓迫者的手中，拯救被壓迫的人；在宣判時，不應畏縮。 | 9 | Deliver him that suffereth wrong out of the hand of the proud: and be not fainthearted in thy soul. |
| 10 | 對待孤兒應如慈父，扶助他們的母親，應如丈夫。 | 10 | In judging be merciful to the fatherless as a father, and as a husband to their mother. |
| 11 | 如此，你纔算是至高者聽命的兒子，他必要比你的母親更愛你。 | 11 | And thou shalt be as the obedient son of the most High, and he will have mercy on thee more than a mother. |
| 12 | 智慧舉揚自己的子孫，照顧尋找自己的人。在正義的路上，她要身為前導。 | 12 | Wisdom inspireth life into her children, and protecteth them that seek after her, and will go before them in the way of justice. |
| 13 | 愛她的，就是愛生命；欣勤尋找她的，必能充滿喜樂。 | 13 | And he that loveth her, loveth life: and they that watch for her, shall embrace her sweetness. |
| 14 | 佔有她的，必承受榮耀；她到那裡，上主就在那裡祝福。 | 14 | They that hold her fast, shall inherit life: and whithersoever she entereth, God will give a blessing. |
| 15 | 凡事奉她的，就是事奉聖者；凡愛慕她的，上主也必愛他們。 | 15 | They that serve her, shall be servants to the holy one: and God loveth them that love her. |
| 16 | 聽從她的，必能統治萬民；親近她的，必能安居度日。 | 16 | He that hearkeneth to her, shall judge nations: and he that looketh upon her, shall remain secure. |
| 17 | 依賴她的，必能以她為產業；他的後裔也必佔有這份產業。 | 17 | If he trust to her, he shall inherit her, and his generation shall be in assurance. |
| 18 | 因為，智慧先領他走彎曲的路，先試探他， | 18 | For she walketh with him in temptation, and at the first she chooseth him. |
| 19 | 使他畏懼恐怖，用自己的紀律磨煉他，以自己的誡命試探他，直到對他有了信任為止。 | 19 | She will bring upon him fear and dread and trial: and she will scourge him with the affliction of her discipline, till she try him by her laws, and trust his soul. |
| 20 | 然後，她要堅固他，再領他走直路，使他歡樂； | 20 | Then she will strengthen him, and make a straight way to him, and give him joy, |
| 21 | 將自己的秘密啟示給他，使他富有知識和正義的智慧。 | 21 | And will disclose her secrets to him, and will heap upon him treasures of knowledge and understanding of justice. |
| 22 | 若是他走入歧途，智慧就離棄他，任憑他喪亡。 | 22 | But if he go astray, she will forsake him, and deliver him into the hands of his enemy. |
| 23 | 我兒，你要愛惜光陰，謹避邪惡； | 23 | Son, observe the time, and fly from evil. |
| 24 | 不要做問心有愧的事。 | 24 | For thy soul be not ashamed to say the truth. |
| 25 | 有一種羞愧帶來罪惡，又有一種羞愧卻帶來光榮和恩寵。 | 25 | For there is a shame that bringeth sin, and there is a shame that bringeth glory and grace. |
| 26 | 你不要顧全臉面，而陷害你的靈魂；也不要說謊，而害你的靈魂。 | 26 | Accept no person against thy own person, nor against thy soul a lie. |
| 27 | 你不要因羞怯而自取喪亡。 | 27 | Reverence not thy neighbour in his fall: |
| 28 | 在救助人時，不要閉口無言，也不要把你的智慧隱藏不露。 | 28 | And refrain not to speak in the time of salvation. Hide not thy wisdom in her beauty. |
| 29 | 因為由言談中，可以看出智慧；在答話上，可以現出明智；在正義的工作上，可以表現出意志的堅定。 | 29 | For by the tongue wisdom is discerned: and understanding, and knowledge, and learning by the word of the wise, and steadfastness in the works of justice. |
| 30 | 不要出言反對真理；對你的無知，你當羞愧。 | 30 | In nowise speak against the truth, but be ashamed of the lie of thy ignorance. |
| 31 | 不要恥於承認你的罪過，不要阻止下流的河水。 | 31 | Be not ashamed to confess thy sins, but submit not thyself to every man for sin. |
| 32 | 在糊塗人前，不要屈服，也不要顧全權威者的臉面。 | 32 | Resist not against the face of the mighty, and do not strive against the stream of the river. |
| 33 | 至死要為真理奮鬥，上主天主必要助你作戰。 | 33 | Strive for justice for thy soul, and even unto death fight for justice, and God will overthrow thy enemies for thee. |
| 34 | 不要在唇舌上誇張，不要在行事上怠慢疏忽。 | 34 | Be not hasty in thy tongue: and slack and remiss in thy works. |
| 35 | 你在家中，不要如同一隻獅子；對你的僕役，不要任性逞強，不要壓迫你的屬下。 | 35 | Be not as a lion in thy house, terrifying them of thy household, and oppressing them that are under thee. |
| 36 | 你的手不要只為領取纔伸開，而在施恩時縮回。 | 36 | Let not thy hand be stretched out to receive, and shut when thou shouldst give. |
