| 1 | 智慧的婦女,足以興家;愚昧的婦女,親手將家拆毀。 | 1 | A wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish will pull down with her hands that also which is built. |
| 2 | 履行正路的人,敬畏上主;愛走曲徑的人,輕視上主。 | 2 | He that walketh in the right way, and feareth God, Cis despised by him that goeth by an infamous way. |
| 3 | 愚昧人口中,有傲慢的根苗;智慧人的唇舌,是自己的保障。 | 3 | In the mouth of a fool is the rod of pride: but the lips of the wise preserve them. |
| 4 | 沒有耕牛,沒有五穀;耕牛愈雄壯,收穫愈豐富。 | 4 | Where there are no oxen, the crib is empty: but where there is much corn, there the strength of the ox is manifest. |
| 5 | 忠實的證人,決不說謊;虛偽的證人,謊言連篇。 | 5 | A faithful witness will not lie: but a deceitful witness uttereth a lie. |
| 6 | 輕狂人求智,只屬徒然;明智人求知,卻很容易。 | 6 | A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: the learning of the wise is easy. |
| 7 | 你應遠離愚昧的人,由他口中決得不到明哲。 | 7 | Go against a foolish man, and he knoweth not the lips of prudence. |
| 8 | 明智人的智慧,在於審察自己的行徑;愚昧人的昏愚,在於自欺欺人。 | 8 | The wisdom of a. discreet man is to understand his way: and the imprudence of fools erreth. |
| 9 | 罪孽住在愚昧人中,恩愛與正直人為伍。 | 9 | A fool will laugh at sin, but among the just grace shall abide. |
| 10 | 心頭的愁苦,唯有自己知;心中的喜樂,他人無分享。 | 10 | The heart that knoweth the bitterness of his own soul, in his joy the stranger shall not intermeddle. |
| 11 | 邪僻人的家庭,必遭破壞;正直人的帳幕,卻要興隆。 | 11 | The house of the wicked shall be destroyed: but the tabernacles of the just shall flourish. |
| 12 | 有些道路,看來正直;走到盡頭,卻是死路。 | 12 | There is a way which seemeth just to a man: but the ends thereof lead to death. |
| 13 | 連在歡笑中,心亦有感傷;歡笑的結局,往往是痛苦。 | 13 | Laughter shall be mingled with sorrow, and mourning taketh hold of the end of joy. |
| 14 | 變心的人,必自嘗其果;良善的人,必得其善報。 | 14 | A fool shall be filled with his own ways, and the good man shall be above him. |
| 15 | 幼稚的人,有話必信;明智的人,步步謹慎。 | 15 | The innocent believeth every word: the discreet man considereth his steps. No good shall come to the deceitful son: but the wise servant shall prosper in his dealings, and his way shall be made straight. |
| 16 | 智慧人戒避邪惡,愚昧人驕矜自負。 | 16 | A wise man feareth and declineth from evil: the fool leapeth over and is confident. |
| 17 | 易怒的人,做事昏愚;慎思的人,事事含忍。 | 17 | The impatient man shall work folly: and the crafty man is hateful. |
| 18 | 愚昧的人,以愚昧為基業;明智的人,以知識為冠冕。 | 18 | The childish shall possess folly, and the prudent, shall look for knowledge. |
| 19 | 歹徒將伏在善人面前,惡人將跪在義人門前。 | 19 | The evil shall fall down before the good: and the wicked before the gates of the just. |
| 20 | 貧窮的人,為親朋所厭;富貴的人,則高朋滿座。 | 20 | The poor man shall be hateful even to his own neighbour: but the friends of the rich are many. |
| 21 | 藐視近人,便是犯罪;憐憫苦人,纔是有福。 | 21 | He that despiseth his neighbour, sinneth: but he that sheweth mercy to the poor, shall be blessed. He that believeth in the Lord, loveth mercy. |
| 22 | 陰謀邪惡的人,豈非走入歧途?策劃行善的人,必獲慈惠忠誠。 | 22 | They err that work evil: but mercy and truth prepare good things. |
| 23 | 一切勞苦,皆有利益;只有閒談,引人貧窮。 | 23 | In much work there shall be abundance: but where there are many words, there is oftentimes want. |
| 24 | 智慧人的冠冕,是他們的機智;愚昧人的冠冕,是他們的糊塗。 | 24 | The crown of the wise is their riches: the folly of fools, imprudence. |
| 25 | 忠實的見證,救人性命;作假證的人,危害他人。 | 25 | A faithful witness delivereth souls: and the double dealer uttereth lies. |
| 26 | 敬畏上主,是穩固的靠山;為他的子孫,也是個避難所。 | 26 | In the fear of the Lord is confidence of strength, and there shall be hope for his children. |
| 27 | 敬畏上主,是生命的泉源,使人脫免死亡的羅網。 | 27 | The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to decline from the ruin of death. |
| 28 | 人民眾多,是君王的光榮;庶民缺少,是王侯的沒落。 | 28 | In the multitude of people is the dignity of the king: and in the small number of people the dishonour of the prince. |
| 29 | 緩於發怒的人,必甚有見識;脾氣暴躁的人,必大顯愚昧。 | 29 | He that is patient, is governed with much wisdom: but he that is impatient, exalteth his folly. |
| 30 | 心平氣和,使身體康健;心懷嫉忌,使骨骸腐蝕。 | 30 | Soundness of heart is the life of the flesh: but envy is the rottenness of the bones. |
| 31 | 欺壓窮人的,就是淩辱他的造主;憐恤苦人的,就是尊敬他的造主。 | 31 | He that oppresseth the poor, upbraideth his Maker: but he that hath pity on the poor, honoureth him. |
| 32 | 惡人因自己的邪惡,必被毀滅;義人因自己的正義,有所憑藉。 | 32 | The wicked man shall be driven out in his wickedness: but the just hath hope in his death. |
| 33 | 智慧居於哲人的心中,愚人的懷中一無所見。 | 33 | In the heart of the prudent resteth wisdom, and it shall instruct all the ignorant. |
| 34 | 正義能以興邦立國,罪惡卻使人民衰落。 | 34 | Justice exalteth a nation: but sin maketh nations miserable. |
| 35 | 明哲的臣僕,蒙受君王的寵幸;無用的臣僕,必遭君王的盛怒。 | 35 | A wise servant is acceptable to the king: he that is good for nothing shall feel his anger. |
