| 1 | 窮而行為正直，勝於富而唇舌欺詐。 | 1 | Better is the poor man, that walketh in his simplicity, than a rich man that is perverse in his lips, and unwise. |
| 2 | 熱誠無謀，誠不可取；步伐匆忙，難免失足。 | 2 | Where there is no knowledge of the soul, there is no good: and he that is hasty with his feet shall stumble. |
| 3 | 人因愚蠢自毀前途；他的心反遷怒上主。 | 3 | The folly of a man supplanteth his seeps: and he fretteth in his mind against God. |
| 4 | 財富招來許多朋友，窮人卻為親朋所棄。 | 4 | Riches make many friends: but from the poor man, even they whom he had, depart. |
| 5 | 作假見證的人，難免受罰；撒播謊言的人，勢必難逃。 | 5 | A false witness shall not be unpunished: and he that speaketh lies shall not escape. |
| 6 | 大方的人，人人奉承；好施的人，人都諂媚。 | 6 | Many honour the person of him that is mighty, and are friends of him that giveth gifts. |
| 7 | 人窮兄弟恨，朋友更遠離；誰追求空言，是捕風捉影。 | 7 | The brethren of the poor man hate him: moreover also his friends have departed far from him. He that followeth after words only, shall have nothing. |
| 8 | 獲得明哲的，必愛惜自己；珍惜明智的，必覓得幸福。 | 8 | But he that possesseth a mind, loveth his own soul, and he that keepeth prudence shall find good things. |
| 9 | 作假見證的人，難免受罰；撒播謊言的人，自趨滅亡。 | 9 | A false witness shall not be unpunished: and he that speaketh lies, shall perish. |
| 10 | 安逸的生活，不適於愚人；奴隸管君主，更是不相宜。 | 10 | Delicacies are not seemly for a fool: nor for a servant to have rule over princes. |
| 11 | 明智的人，緩於發怒，寬恕愆尤，引以為榮。 | 11 | The learning of a man is known by patience and his glory is to pass over wrongs. |
| 12 | 君主的盛怒，有如獅子的怒吼；君王的恩惠，有如草上的朝露。 | 12 | As the roaring of a lion, so also is the anger of a king: and his cheerfulness as the dew upon the grass. |
| 13 | 愚昧的兒子，是父親的災禍；吵鬧的女人，有如屋頂漏水。 | 13 | A foolish son is the grief of his father: and a wrangling wife is like a roof continually dropping through. |
| 14 | 房屋與錢財，是父母的遺產；賢明的妻子，是上主的恩賜。 | 14 | House and riches are given by parents: but a prudent wife is properly from the Lord. |
| 15 | 懶慢怠惰，使人沉睡；閒蕩的人，必要挨餓。 | 15 | Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep, and an idle soul shall suffer hunger. |
| 16 | 恪守上主誡命的，可保全生命；輕視上主道路的，必自趨喪亡。 | 16 | He that keepeth the commandment, keepeth his own soul: but he that neglecteth his own way, shall die. |
| 17 | 向窮人施捨，是借貸於上主；對他的功德，上主必要報答。 | 17 | He that hath mercy on the poor, lendeth to the Lord: and he will repay him. |
| 18 | 尚有希望時，應處罰兒子；但不可存心置他於死地。 | 18 | Chastise thy son, despair not: but to the killing of him set not thy soul. |
| 19 | 易怒的人，應當受罰：你越寬容，使他越乖戾。 | 19 | He that is impatient, shall suffer damage: and when he shall take away he shall add another thing. |
| 20 | 你應聽取勸告，接受教訓，使你今後成個明智的人。 | 20 | Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayst be wise in thy latter end. |
| 21 | 人在心中儘可策劃多端，實現的卻是上主的計劃。 | 21 | There are many thoughts in the heart of a man: but the will of the Lord shall stand firm. |
| 22 | 慷慨為人有利，窮漢勝過騙子。 | 22 | A needy man is merciful: and better is the poor than the lying man. |
| 23 | 敬畏上主，使人得生命，滿懷敬畏，必無殃無禍。 | 23 | The fear of the Lord is unto life: and he shall abide in fulness without being visited with evil. |
| 24 | 懶惰人伸手到食盤，卻懶於送回到口邊。 | 24 | The slothful hideth his hand under his armpit, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth. |
| 25 | 你若杖責輕狂人，幼稚者將變明智；你只譴責明智者，他即更明瞭義理。 | 25 | The wicked man being; scourged, the fool shall be wiser: but if thou rebuke a wise man he will understand discipline. |
| 26 | 苛待父親，迫走母親的，實是卑賤可恥的兒子。 | 26 | He that afflicteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is infamous and unhappy. |
| 27 | 我兒，你停止聽取教訓，就是遠離智慧的訓言。 | 27 | Cease not, O my son, to hear instruction, and be not ignorant of the words of knowledge. |
| 28 | 邪曲的見證，戲笑公義；惡人們的嘴，吞食不義。 | 28 | An unjust witness scorneth judgment: and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity. |
| 29 | 體刑是為輕狂人而設，鞭笞是為愚人背而備。 | 29 | Judgments are prepared for scorners: and striking hammers for the bodies of fools. |
