| 1 | 不要為明日自誇，因為你不知今天能發生什麼。 | 1 | Boast not for to morrow, for thou knowest not what the day to come may bring forth. |
| 2 | 只應讓人讚美你，你不應開口自誇；讚你的該是他人，不該是你的唇舌。 | 2 | Let another praise thee, and not thy own mouth: a stranger, and not thy own lips. |
| 3 | 石頭重，沙礫沉，愚人的忿怒，比二者都重。 | 3 | A stone is heavy, and sand weighty: but the anger of a fool is heavier than them both. |
| 4 | 憤怒固然殘酷，暴怒更是猛烈；可是面對妒恨，有誰能夠抵受？ | 4 | Anger hath no mercy, nor fury when it breaketh forth: and who can bear the violence of one provoked? |
| 5 | 公開的責斥，勝於暗中的溺愛。 | 5 | Open rebuke is better than hidden love. |
| 6 | 友人的抨擊是忠誠，仇人的擁吻是欺騙。 | 6 | Better are the wounds of a friend, than the deceitful kisses of an enemy. |
| 7 | 人若吃飽了，蜂蜜也厭惡；若肚子饑餓，苦物也甘甜。 | 7 | A soul that is full shall tread upon the honeycomb : and a soul that is hungry shall take even bitter for sweet. |
| 8 | 離家飄泊的遊子，有如無巢可歸的雀鳥。 | 8 | As a bird that wandereth from her nest, so is a man that leaveth his place. |
| 9 | 香油和香料，能暢快人心；朋友的勸勉，能撫慰人靈。 | 9 | Ointment and perfumes rejoice the heart: and the good counsels of a friend are sweet to the soul. |
| 10 | 你的知心朋友，你父親的至交，你切不可離棄；在你憂患的時日，不要進兄弟的家。靠近的鄰舍，勝於遠地的兄弟。 | 10 | Thy own friend, and thy father's friend forsake not: and go not into thy brother's house in the day of thy affliction. Better is a neighbour that is near, than a brother afar off. |
| 11 | 我兒，作個智慧人，使我心高興，好叫我回答笑罵我的人。 | 11 | Study wisdom, my son, and make my heart joyful, that thou mayst give an answer to him that reproacheth. |
| 12 | 精明人遇見災禍，即行隱避；無知者反向前走，自招損害。 | 12 | The prudent man seeing evil hideth himself: little ones passing on have suffered losses. |
| 13 | 誰為外方人作保，拿出他的衣服；誰為異族人作保，以他本人作質。 | 13 | Take away his garment that hath been surety for a stranger: and take from him a pledge for strangers. |
| 14 | 清晨向人高聲祝福，就等於向他人咀咒。 | 14 | He that blesseth his neighbour with a loud voice, rising in the night, shall be like to him that curseth. |
| 15 | 豪雨的時日，滴漏不已：好吵的女人，也是如此； | 15 | Roofs dropping through in a cold day, and a contentious woman are alike. |
| 16 | 誰願意攔阻她，無異攔阻狂風，又好似右手抓油。 | 16 | He that retaineth her, is as he that would hold the wind, and shall call in the oil of his right hand. |
| 17 | 朋友互相砥礪，有如以鐵銼鐵。 | 17 | Iron sharpeneth iron, so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. |
| 18 | 看守無花果樹的，必食其果；護守自己主人的，必受器重。 | 18 | He that keepeth the fig tree, shall eat the fruit thereof: and he that is the keeper of his master, shall be glorified. |
| 19 | 人心不同，猶如其面。 | 19 | As the faces of them that look therein, shine in the water, so-the hearts of men are laid open to the wise. |
| 20 | 陰府如冥域，總填不滿；世人的眼睛，從不滿足。 | 20 | Hell and destruction are never filled: so the eyes of men are never satisfied. |
| 21 | 鍋煉銀，爐煉金，諂媚煉人心。 | 21 | As silver is tried in the fining-pot and gold in the furnace: so a man is tried by the mouth of him that praiseth. The heart of the wicked seeketh after evils, but the righteous heart seeketh after knowledge. |
| 22 | 你盡可在臼中將愚人舂碎，但他的昏愚卻永不能剷除。 | 22 | Though thou shouldst bray a fool in the mortar, as when a pestle striketh upon sodden barley, his folly would not be taken from him. |
| 23 | 對你羊群的情況，應如注意；對你的家蓄，應常留心照料； | 23 | Be diligent to know the countenance of thy cattle, and consider thy own flocks : |
| 24 | 因為錢財並不能永存，寶藏也不能永留萬代。 | 24 | For thou shalt not always have power: but a crown shall be given to generation and generation. |
| 25 | 割去了乾草，青草又叢生；山間的野草，也收集起來； | 25 | The meadows are open, and the green herbs have appeared, and the hay is gathered out of the mountains. |
| 26 | 那時羔羊供你衣料，山羊供你地價， | 26 | Lambs are for thy clothing: and kids for the price of the field. |
| 27 | 羊奶足以養你，維持你的家庭，養活你的婢女。 | 27 | Let the milk of the goats be enough for thy food, and for the necessities of thy house, and for maintenance for thy handmaids. |
