| 1 | 人若屢受譴責,仍然頑固,他必突然喪亡,無法挽救。 | 1 | The man that with a stiff neck despiseth him that reproveth him, shall suddenly be destroyed: and health shall not follow him. |
| 2 | 義人執政,人民喜慶;惡人專權,人民嘆息。 | 2 | When just men increase, the people shall rejoice: when the wicked shall bear rule, the people shall mourn. |
| 3 | 喜愛智慧的,使父親喜悅;尋花問柳的,必傾家蕩產。 | 3 | A man that loveth wisdom, rejoiceth his father: but he that maintaineth bar lots, shall squander away his substance. |
| 4 | 君王秉公行義,必將興邦;但若暴歛橫徵,必將喪邦。 | 4 | A just king setteth up the land: a covetous man shall destroy it. |
| 5 | 對自己的友伴阿諛的人,是在他腳下張設羅網。 | 5 | A man that speaketh to his friend with flattering and dissembling words, spreadeth a net for his feet. |
| 6 | 作惡的人,滿路絆索;正義的人,載欣載奔。 | 6 | A snare shall entangle the wicked man when he sinneth: and the just shall praise and rejoice. |
| 7 | 義人關注窮人的案情,但是惡人卻毫不知情。 | 7 | The just taketh notice of the cause of the poor: the wicked is void of knowledge. |
| 8 | 輕狂的人,煽動城市作亂;明智的人,設法挽回狂瀾。 | 8 | Corrupt men bring a city to ruin: but wise men turn away wrath. |
| 9 | 智愚爭辯,或怒或笑,終無結果。 | 9 | If a wise man contend with a fool, whether he be angry or laugh, he shall find no rest. |
| 10 | 嗜殺的人,常憎恨正人君子;正直的人,卻關懷他的性命。 | 10 | Bloodthirsty men hate the upright: but just men seek his soul. |
| 11 | 愚人忿怒,必盡情發洩;明智的人,必自知抑制。 | 11 | A fool uttereth all his mind: a wise man deferreth, and keepeth it till afterwards. |
| 12 | 作首長的,如聽信讒言,他的臣僕,必盡屬小人。 | 12 | A prince that gladly heareth lying words, hath all his servants wicked. |
| 13 | 窮人與壓迫者彼此相遇,二者皆由主獲得光明。 | 13 | The poor man and the creditor have met one another: the Lord is the enlightener of them both. |
| 14 | 君王如秉公審判窮人,他的寶座必永久穩立。 | 14 | The king that judgeth the poor in truth, his throne shall be established for ever. |
| 15 | 杖責與懲戒,賜予人智慧;嬌縱的孩子,使母親受辱。 | 15 | The rod and reproof give wisdom: but the child that is left to his own will bringeth his mother to shame. |
| 16 | 惡人掌權,罪惡隨之增多;正義的人,必親見其崩潰。 | 16 | When the wicked are multiplied, crimes shall be multiplied: but the just shall see their downfall. |
| 17 | 懲戒你的兒子,他必使你安心,令你心曠神怡。 | 17 | Instruct thy son, and he shall refresh thee, and shall give delight to thy soul. |
| 18 | 神視缺乏時,人民必放縱;遵守法律的,纔蒙受祝福。 | 18 | When prophecy shall fail, the people shall be scattered abroad: but he that keepeth the law is blessed. |
| 19 | 要糾正奴才,不宜用言語;即使他明白,他仍不服從。 | 19 | A slave will not be corrected by words: because he understandeth what thou sayest, and will not answer. |
| 20 | 你是否見過信口開河的人?寄望於愚人勝於寄望於他。 | 20 | Hast thou seen a man hasty to speak? folly is rather to be looked for, than his amendment. |
| 21 | 對奴才自幼加以嬌養,他日後終必反僕為主。 | 21 | He that nourisheth his servant delicately from his childhood, afterwards shall find him stubborn. |
| 22 | 易怒的人,極易引起紛爭;性急的人,必犯很多過錯。 | 22 | A passionate man provoketh quarrels: and he that is easily stirred up to wrath, shall be more prone to sin. |
| 23 | 驕傲自大,使人屈辱;虛心謙下,使人受榮。 | 23 | Humiliation followeth the proud: and glory shall uphold the humble of spirit. |
| 24 | 誰與盜賊合夥,實是痛恨自己;他雖聽見咀咒,卻不敢發一言。 | 24 | He that is partaker with a thief, hateth his own soul: he heareth one putting him to his oath, and discovereth not. |
| 25 | 對人畏懼,必陷入羈絆;信賴上主,必獲得安全。 | 25 | He that feareth man, shall quickly fall: he that trusteth in the Lord, shall be set on high. |
| 26 | 許多人尋求王侯的慈惠,但每人的判決出自上主。 | 26 | Many seek the face of the prince: but the judgment of every one cometh forth from the Lord. |
| 27 | 為非作歹的人,為義人所憎惡;行為正直的人,為惡人所憎惡。 | 27 | The just abhor the wicked man: and the wicked loathe them that are in the right way. The son that keepeth the word, shall be free from destruction. |
