| 1 | 無知的迦拉達人啊！被釘在十字架上的耶穌基督，已活現地擺在你們眼前，誰又迷惑了你們呢？ | 1 | O senseless Galatians, who hath bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been set forth, crucified among you? |
| 2 | 我只願向你們請教這一點：你們領受了聖神，是由於遵行法律呢？還是由於聽信福音呢？ | 2 | This only would I learn of you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? |
| 3 | 你們竟這樣無知嗎？你們以聖神開始了，如今又願以肉身結束嗎？ | 3 | Are you so foolish, that, whereas you began in the Spirit, you would now be made perfect by the flesh? |
| 4 | 你們竟白白受了這麼多的苦嗎？果然是白白地嗎？ | 4 | Have you suffered so great things in vain? If it be yet in vain. |
| 5 | 天主賜與你們聖神，並在你們中間施展了德能，是因為你們遵行法律呢？還是因為你們聽信福音呢？ | 5 | He therefore who giveth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you; doth he do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of the faith? |
| 6 | 經上這樣記載說：『亞巴郎信了天主，天主就以此算為他的正義。』 | 6 | As it is written: Abraham believed God, and it was reputed to him unto justice. |
| 7 | 為此你們該曉得：具有信德的人，纔是亞巴郎的子孫。 | 7 | Know ye therefore, that they who are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. |
| 8 | 聖經預見天主將使異民憑信德成義，就向亞巴郎預報福音說：『萬民都要因你獲得祝福。』 | 8 | And the scripture, foreseeing, that God justifieth the Gentiles by faith, told unto Abraham before: In thee shall all nations be blessed. |
| 9 | 可見那些具有信德的人，與有信德的亞巴郎同蒙祝福。 | 9 | Therefore they that are of faith, shall be blessed with faithful Abraham. |
| 10 | 反之，凡是依恃遵行法律的，都應受咒罵，因為經上記載說：『凡不持守律書上所記載的一切，而依照遵行的，是可咒罵的。』 | 10 | For as many as are of the works of the law, are under a curse. For it is written: Cursed is every one, that abideth not in all things, which are written in the book of the law to do them. |
| 11 | 所以很明顯的，沒有一個人能憑法律在天主前成義，因為經上說：『義人因信德而生活。』 | 11 | But that in the law no man is justified with God, it is manifest: because the just man liveth by faith. |
| 12 | 但是法律並非以信德為本，只說：『遵行法令的，必因此獲得生命。』 | 12 | But the law is not of faith: but, He that doth those things, shall live in them. |
| 13 | 但基督由法律的咒罵中贖出了我們，為我們成了可咒罵的，因為經上記載說：『凡被懸在木架上的，是可咒罵的。』 | 13 | Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written: Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: |
| 14 | 這樣天主使亞巴郎所蒙受的祝福，在基督耶穌內普及於萬民，並使我們能藉著信德領受所應許的聖神。 | 14 | That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Christ Jesus: that we may receive the promise of the Spirit by faith. |
| 15 | 弟兄們！就常規來說：連人的遺囑，如果是正式成立的，誰也不得廢除或增訂。 | 15 | Brethren (I speak after the manner of man,) yet a man's testament, if it be confirmed, no man despiseth, nor addeth to it. |
| 16 | 那麼，恩許是向亞巴郎和他的後裔所許諾的，並沒有說「後裔們」，好像是向許多人說的，而是向一個人，即「你的後裔」，就是指基督。 | 16 | To Abraham were the promises made and to his seed. He saith not, And to his seeds, as of many: but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. |
| 17 | 我是說：天主先前所正式立定的誓約，決不能為四百三十年以後成立的法律所廢除，以致使恩許失效。 | 17 | Now this I say, that the testament which was confirmed by God, the law which was made after four hundred and thirty years, doth not disannul, to make the promise of no effect. |
| 18 | 如果承受產業是由於法律，就已不是由於恩許；但天主是由於恩許把產業賜給了亞巴郎。 | 18 | For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise. But God gave it to Abraham by promise. |
| 19 | 那麼，為什麼還有法律呢？它是為顯露過犯而添設的，等他所恩許的後裔來到，它原是藉著天使，經過中人的手而立定的。 | 19 | Why then was the law? It was set because of transgressions, until the seed should come, to whom he made the promise, being ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. |
| 20 | 可是如果出於單方，就不需要中人了，而天主是由單方賜與了恩許。 | 20 | Now a mediator is not of one: but God is one. |
| 21 | 那麼，法律相反天主的恩許嗎？絕對不是。如果所立定的法律能賜與人生命，正義就的確是出於法律了。 | 21 | Was the law then against the promises of God? God forbid. For if there had been a law given which could give life, verily justice should have been by the law. |
| 22 | 但是聖經說過：一切人都被禁錮在罪惡權下，好使恩許藉著對基督耶穌的信仰，歸於相信的人。 | 22 | But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise, by the faith of Jesus Christ, might be given to them that believe. |
| 23 | 在「信仰」尚未來到以前，我們都被禁錮在法律的監守之下，以期待「信仰」的出現。 | 23 | But before the faith came, we were kept under the law shut up, unto that faith which was to be revealed. |
| 24 | 這樣，法律就成了我們的啟蒙師，領我們歸於基督，好使我們由於信仰而成義。 | 24 | Wherefore the law was our pedagogue in Christ, that we might be justified by faith. |
| 25 | 但是「信仰」一到，我們就不再處於啟蒙師權下了。 | 25 | But after the faith is come, we are no longer under a pedagogue. |
| 26 | 其實你們眾人都藉著對基督耶穌的信仰，成了天主的子女。 | 26 | For you are all the children of God by faith, in Christ Jesus. |
| 27 | 因為你們凡是領了洗歸於基督的，就是穿上了基督： | 27 | For as many of you as have been baptized in Christ, have put on Christ. |
| 28 | 不再分猶太人或希臘人，奴隸或自由人，男人或女人，因為你們眾人在基督耶穌內已成了一個。 | 28 | There is neither Jew nor Greek: there is neither bond nor free: there is neither male nor female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. |
| 29 | 如果你們屬於基督，那麼，你們就是亞巴郎的後裔，就是按照恩許作承繼的人。 | 29 | And if you be Christ's, then are you the seed of Abraham, heirs according to the promise. |
